The earthquake of 10 August 2026 is independently verified. Belalcázar-specific damage, the campaign’s payout arrangement, and the transfer plan are not yet verified, and no donation link is active on this site until they are.

The magnitude 7.4 earthquake of 10 August 2026 in western Colombia is independently verified by the United States Geological Survey and the Servicio Geológico Colombiano. Reporting from that day documents severe damage across the region, including in the department of Caldas.

The campaign organizers report damage to homes in Belalcázar, Caldas. That statement has not yet been independently confirmed by a published local assessment. We will not present it as verified until it is, and we will publish the assessment — with its date, author, and method — as soon as it exists.

Before this site links to any donation page, the following must be documented and reviewed: the live GoFundMe campaign URL, the organizer and payout account holder, the Colombian recipient or recipient-selection process, the exact transfer method to Colombia with its fees and cadence, the budget and decision rules, and the tax-status wording.

This update exists so that early visitors can see the campaign’s verification state honestly, rather than finding polished claims without evidence.
