People affected by the earthquake are protagonists of their recovery, not advertising material. Every image published on this site must meet these rules.
Before any image is published
- Recorded creator/owner, license or written permission, and public credit.
- Verified capture date and place, where safe to reveal.
- Informed consent from identifiable people for international web and fundraising use, with a real right to decline and to withdraw later without affecting any assistance.
- Heightened review for children: child-and-guardian permission plus a best-interest review. When in doubt, the situation is described without identifying the child.
- GPS/EXIF metadata and other risky identifiers stripped from public files.
- No stock, unrelated-disaster, or AI-generated imagery presented as evidence of this event. No identifiable deceased people or staged suffering.
- Caption, credit, and alt text in Spanish and English.
